I am a vegan wife and mother to a meat eating family. I will share with you recipes I have tested and changes I am making to encourage my family to lean into a vegan diet.

We left school Friday afternoon with smiles on our faces.

Spring break has sprung…

We headed to straight to  Cherry Berry.  It’s a self-serve frozen yogurt bar.

We weren’t the only ones who wanted to kick off spring break with frozen yogurt.

You fill a cup with your choice of frozen yogurt (they have a dozen different kinds) and add as many toppings as you like.  They have things such as nuts, crushed graham crackers, m&m’s, marshmallows, oreo cookies, coconut, chocolate chips, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi and so much more.

You have to be careful because they charge you by the ounce.  After you fill your cup with goodness, you place your cup on a scale and pay 39 cents per ounce.

I was hoping that they would offer a dairy free option.  There was a poster on the wall that listed several sorbets that Cherry Berry offered, but this location had none.  I asked one of the employees about it and they said they will be receiving “valencia orange sorbet” on March 20th.  (Which by the way, has 90 calories, 0 g fat, 22 g carbs, 0 g protein)Yea!

So I filled my cup with blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, coconut and walnuts.  Yum!

My kids filled theirs with the usual “kid favorites.”

Happy kids…
