I am a vegan wife and mother to a meat eating family. I will share with you recipes I have tested and changes I am making to encourage my family to lean into a vegan diet.

Irish Beer Bread

Saint Patrick’s Day is just a few days away, so I wanted to gather some vegan Irish recipes to share with you.

The first one on the list is:

Irish Beer Bread

This recipe calls for a little less than 12 oz of beer, so you need to take a small drink before you add the beer…otherwise it will be too much.

Prep Time:  5 minutes

Cook Time:  50 minutes

2/1/2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

3/4 cup brown sugar

12 oz stout beer (Remember, take a small drink before adding)  I used Guinness.

1/2 cup raisins

2/3 cup chopped walnuts

 1 tsp cinnamon

dash of nutmeg

This is so simple…all you do is dump everything in a bowl and mix well.

Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 50 minutes at 350 degrees.  (I baked mine at 325 degrees because of how hot my oven gets.)

The smell that filled my house as this was baking was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

If you have never made Irish Beer Bread I highly recommend that you try this recipe.  My whole family loved it!

May the love and protection

Saint Patrick can give

be yours in abundance

as long as you live.
